Baoning vinegar is a local traditional famous specialty in Baoning Town, Langzhong City, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, and is one of the four famous vinegars in China.
Baoning vinegar, commonly known as the place name (now Baoning Town, Langzhong City, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province), originated in the first year of the Changxing reign of the Tang Dynasty (936 AD) when the Baoning Army was established, and has a history of 1078 years. Through continuous exploration and innovation, Baoning Vinegar has ultimately formed a century old brand known as Zhonghua Vinegar Garden, with its distinctive features of bran vinegar and medicinal vinegar. Baoning vinegar is made from bran, wheat, rice, and glutinous rice as raw materials, using various Chinese medicinal herbs such as sand kernels, malt, hawthorn, Duhuo, cinnamon, angelica, black plum, and almonds to stimulate appetite, invigorate the spleen, and promote blood flow. It is brewed from high-quality spring water (formerly known as Guanyin Holy Water) from the Tang Dynasty’s ancient “Songhua Well” in Guanyin Temple, which is clear, sweet, and boiling without sinking. For nearly a hundred years, it has been praised as the spirit of Sichuan cuisine, and there is a saying that “without Baoning vinegar, Sichuan cuisine has no customers”. Be jealous, Baoning vinegar; pass down fragrance, green and healthy
On November 7, 2006, it was recognized by the Ministry of Commerce as a Chinese time-honored brand
