At the beginning of the Chinese New Year, major state-owned enterprises in Sichuan have focused on their main responsibilities and businesses, focusing on the implementation of major national strategies and key areas of security capacity building projects, rushing to meet deadlines, and accelerating the construction of key projects.
Just after the holiday, the Huangniyan Bridge construction site of the Chengdu Chongqing Expressway expansion project has entered a tense and orderly construction state. Currently, 80% of the bridge’s substructure has been completed, and it is expected that the substructure will be fully completed in the first quarter.
As an important project to promote the construction of the Chengdu Chongqing Economic Circle, the Sichuan section of the Chengdu Chongqing Expressway Expansion Project starts from the Sichuan Chongqing border and passes through Neijiang City, Ziyang City, and Chengdu City. The main line is about 179 kilometers long, and about 90% of the section is designed as a two-way eight lane road. It is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in June 2028.
