Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area gets its name from the nine Tibetan stockaded villages (Shuzheng stockaded village, Zechawa stockaded village, Heijiao stockaded village, Heye stockaded village, Panya stockaded village, Yala stockaded village, Jianpan stockaded village, Rexi stockaded village, and Guodu stockaded village) in the scenic spot. These nine stockaded villages are also called “Heyao Jiuzhai”. Because there are nine stockaded villages where Tibetans have lived for generations, it is called “Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area”.
When officials of the World Natural Heritage Organization went to Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area for the first time in 1992, they were blinded by heavy rain when they entered the gully. When they arrived at the Spark Sea View Point, the sky suddenly opened up, and the sunlight passed through the mist in the sky, painting a beautiful rainbow. The enchanting and gorgeous Spark Sea appeared in front of these world-class officials, and they were stunned by the beautiful scenery in front of them. Immediately, they bent down and knelt by the sea, bowing down to the nature of creation. Afterwards, they recalled that the scenery here was too beautiful and surprised them. They had never imagined that nature could have such an uncanny workmanship to paint Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area in China as beautiful as a fairy.
Their worship is a reverence for nature; Their bowing is to thank China for leaving a treasure for the world and a fairyland for the world.
